Wahid bin Ahsan


Wahid bin Ahsan is the front-runner in digital media design industry in Bangladesh. He is veteran user-centered design specialist, accessibility standards compliance (Section 508/WCAG) consultant, user experience architect, user researcher, educator, and a speaker. He co-founded User Study & Experience Research Hub (Userhub), Masqara Digital, and UX Saturday with Wahid.

He previously worked for United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as National Expert (Web Architect), Therap Services as UX Consultant and Trainer, Chief User Experience Architect at Desme Bangladesh, Chief Technology Officer at Coders & Designers, Senior Web Designer at bGlobal Sourcing LLC (now BG Interactive), and Senior Technical Instructor at New Horizons Computer Learning Centers. He designed and developed the user experience of open sourced ASP.NET based framework Employee Information Starter Kit (EISK) in 2011 for the community. In the last 16 years of his professional career, he helped many other local and international brands with various digital products and services.

In 2013 he was invited by a Maryland based interactive agency in the USA to contribute to their engineering process improvement sessions. There he carried out in-house UX process improvement training for their engagement managers. He won the Best Marketing Website Award by Web Marketing Association in 2013.

Wahid introduced UX to Bangladeshi students and professionals community in 2011. Till now, he has conducted 14 online UX training webinars for more than 300 attendees and 7 UX training workshops in 6 universities for more than 500 students. Universities he carried out workshops in are Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, Institute of Information Technology, University of Dhaka, American International University-Bangladesh, BRAC University,Begum Rokeya University – Rangpur, Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology – Gazipur.

The Information & Communication Technology Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology as the Honorable Jury panel member of the selection committee for National Mobile Apps Award 2015 program. Wahid contributed to National Mobile Hackathon 2014 as Judge and Mentor. He was invited to EATL-Prothom Alo Apps Contest – 2015 Bootcamp for giving UX guidance to the contestants, where he presented Keynote Speech on “Valuable User Experience”. He also carried out a Hands-on UX Workshop at Digital World 2015 in February this year. Wahid is currently administering an ongoing accessibility awareness program. He has organized a hands-on accessibility workshop at Userhub where attendees were guided on how to make websites and applications accessible to users with disability.
